1 starThis is the worst company ever. I really hate leaving a one star review. It is much better than they deserve. We sold our house in June of 2024. We called to cancel our account. We were paid up through Dec 31st 2024. These people still have not canceled our account. They have billed us for another year and have added 2 late fees. They outsource to call center in *****. The people that answer the phone barely speak English. You literally cannot talk to someone local. It might be time for someone to start a class action lawsuit over there shady business practices. I am going to contact an attorney and take them to court and force them to close my account. They will pay for the attorneys fee. Hopefully the 1000 people that left reviews on here will do similar.Review fromKevin D

1 starI have been on Amerigas' auto delivery for many years, and only recently they let me run out. Following my call, they delivered and performed a required leak test, for which the driver said that I was not responsible, but that he was obligated to perform. He said that he would make a note on the paperwork. My email response to the first Amerigas bill (which included the leak test charge!) was ignored. Now, I am spending much frustrating time on calls to customer service **** whose English is barely comprehensible and who tell me I must pay the charge for reasons such as: I should have checked the tank (not my responsibility, and furthermore, there is no gauge!), and that when they last delivered, the tank was full (so, this justifies their letting me run out of gas?!). The gas is used for a stove only, and we have not increased our usage. I am now awaiting a return call from Amerigas, who is supposed to contact the delivery driver to confirm my version of the issue. Meanwhile, I have asked to be removed from their auto delivery service, so that when I have used the gas (for which I am glad to pay) in the tank, I can move on to another gas supplier. I hope I never hear of the name Amerigas again as long as I live, and I hope to die a very, very old man!Review fromAb C

1 starUnfortunately one of the worst companies with which I have conducted business.Due to constant billing issues, such as consistently charging MORE than agreed upon fees. Therefore, I attempted to terminate my ************ the ****************** carefully! It states that they can raise fees without notice. They raised tank removal fees and service fees. Appears to be a tactic to prevent customers from ********** the end after they raised all the rates, it costs OVER $600 to terminate service. It would be cheaper to simply buy the tank, but they don't provide that as an option.Review fromAlma Darlene M

1 starThis business is by far the worse I have ever come across. In the fall of 2024 I was at my ELDERLY mothers home As I passed by the gas tank, I noticed a propane smell. I was unable to read the company name on the take due to its age and weathered condition. I found the information inside and made the call to have a gas leak check done. I had been told that I needed to stay near my phone because someone would call me. (NO ONE CALLED) Checking the mail a couple weeks later I seen a bill and discussed it with mother who had been on a budget but due to hospitalization had been kicked off for no payment. Winter was around the corner and I did not want her freeze so I contacted the company about working out a payment plan and budget so that I could assist. The customer service people were rude and would not discuss anything with me because of not being on the account. Stated they would only discuss with (*****) who had passed away several years prior and never taken off. I argued with these people for several weeks; it was found that I had caused a $250+ fee for gas check and then a $300 delivery fee and past late fees were over $900 and needed paid prior to gas being delivered. During which I found that my mother and (*****) had been billed annual rental on the tank of $268+- that was bought and paid for back in the 1990's. When I called to discuss with ***************** I was told to "Prove it" as to which I said that I would be contacting a layer...I was told "bring it on". Later a manager call me to apologize and tell me that it had been taken care of and if I would consider staying with Amerigas that "HE" would make it right. A week later Moms tank was replaced with a New one and full of gas with the understanding that someone would call regarding the fuel prices and a new monthly payment plan for mother before 1/15/2025. 1 stari had an auto delivery. When I got the bill they had charged $4.99/gallon. I called and asked them about it and they said their prices fluctuate. I told them to cancel my service and to come get their tank with the propane in it. They had given me 243 gallons and I was at 48% which means I almost ran out. They told me I had to pay for it since they had delivered it and I said no I don,t. Come get your tank. A friend called them to see how much they charged and they told him $1.92/gallon. Do not trust this company. They will rip you off if they have a chance. They are not getting another dime from me.Review fromMarie O

1 starAwful company. Robbed me of my money. I pay an annual maintenance fee to ensure tank is checked every time its filled. Tank was filled in December, had a leak that wasnt noticed by their employee, lost the full tank and they are refunding less than half. I usually have the tank filled every 6 months when its at 20%. Had the propane for 2 out of 6 months and it was on 0%. Im switching companies after this ******.Review fromDavid N

1 starIf I could give zero stars, I would. AmeriGas has been an absolute nightmare.They locked the propane tank behind my house which they filled to 70% and now refuse to remove it. I cant switch providers or get heat to my home in **********. This has been going on for over two months. Ive made 15+ calls, sent emails, and spent 6+ hours on the phone being transferred to people who cant help or give straight answers.AmeriGas inspected the property and admitted the tank was a fire hazard then did nothing. I had to winterize my cabin and couldnt use it all winter because of their inaction.Two other gas companies reviewed my situation and both said the same thing: report them to the Arizona Attorney General, which Ive now done.Their customer service is useless, their safety practices are questionable, and theyre essentially holding my property hostage with a locked tank I cant use or remove. Look at their *****+ reviews and 1.2-star rating this isnt just my experience.Most people probably dont know they can report this kind of abuse but they should.Avoid AmeriGas at all costs.Review fromPaul O

1 starAVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN! They have charged me $249.49 for services I did not request and even verified I would not be charged about requiring a quote to repair a plastic lid. Additionally, they have charged me a $36.00 late fee for not paying my bill when THEY told me not to pay it until the case number is resolved. I have called 5 times since January of 2025 and each time, other than 1 where I spent over an hour waiting for a supervisor to come on the phone, I have been told that my case is still in review and they were attempting to contact the local office manager. The last time I called to check on the status (March 31, 2025) I was told there was not account history of a case number with an adjustment of the price on it. I was told that after "a certain amount of time" that data "goes away", so I am starting over. Customers are unable to contact local ********************** Offices for resolution and you must go through a call center in another country. All I want to do id have my bill corrected so that I can pay my bill, but I have zero confidence that this issue would be resolved if I paid any portion of this bill prior to resolution.Review fromJeanne H

1 starWe were with this Company for 25 years. In the beginning they were fine. As time passed, they started to charge a fee to lock in a rate. When we had a local *** to talk to, we were able to get them to waive however after a while we were unable to do that because they closed down the local *** and farmed their customer care overseas. This is when our disappointment with this company began. When you called it was a 20 minute wait to get a non English speaking person that we could not understand. After many years of this and the soaring prices, we decided to cancel their service and go with a local company at half the cost of a gallon of propane. This brings me up to my complaint. After we canceled, we received a Bill for $448.33 that stated Final. We did not expect this so another 20 minute wait call, we ask what it was for and they simply said its your final Bill and again I ask why and they would not tell me. They then proceeded to offer a $190,00 discount off. That is when I suspected this was just the company trying to ***** more money off us. After that we kept receiving invoices with late charges and now this so called Final bill is at $556.33 and turned over to a collection agency.
