This one man show scam of a business came into my home to measure, make and install all new doors. The man obviously had very little experience and ended up doing a TON of damage to my beautiful home. He is now refusing to cover the cost of repairing the damage and fixing the terribly made/installed doors.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/01/2024

    Hello,

We are upset as well that this customer has had a bad experience with our service.  We believe the complaint of "doing a TON of damage" is a false statement of fact.  We would describe that attached picture as doing some additional routing in a very discrete area to get the doors to work in that area.  That "damage" is barely visible behind the pantry doors.  We scheduled a time to remedy those "damages" but the customer cancelled two hours before our scheduled time to get those issues fixed.  Not sure why the customer cancelled our appointment to fix the issues and then began to proceed to hire another company to fix the issues.  We do have language in our install contracts that says: "In some situations door stops and jambs may have to be moved to improve the operation of the door".

We would like to resolve this issue with the customer and offer a discount of $2,241.  $891.86 which would need to be refunded to the customer.  We are seeking legal guidance in how to proceed with this customer.  We are meeting with our lawyers on 9/16 to discuss this customer complaint.  If we could have some patience from the BBB and customer until then that would be appreciated.  We are having a contract drafted that would need to be signed by the customer in order to get the discount and refund.  The contract also releases lien rights that we have on the property for the amount of the contract.  It is just standard paperwork.  We are not just going to mail the customer a check.

This is a link that shows that we properly installed 17 out of the 21 doors correctly.  The statement of a TON of damage is just not a correct statement.  We installed 17 out of the 21 doors correctly and had a time scheduled to fix the other 4 doors, but the customer cancelled the scheduled time we had to fix these issues.

Thank you for your patience in helping us work through this issue.

    Sincerely,

I will accept this response from the business after I receive payment from them for the damages they caused to my home that I had repaired. I don't feel comfortable formally accepting until I am paid.  Thank you for your help.
