Starting in March 2023 we were working with a Contractor, *** ***** and ****** ***** from Accu-Spec Consulting & Construction SVS, LLC. in order to get the roof repaired on our house and other structures. *** ***** was working with our insurance company ******** to have them cover the cost of the damage. ******** promised to cover the cost of roof repair up to $25,234.17 and to date paid 20,411.02. To make a claim for the recoverable depreciation for an amount in excess of actual cash value, the repair, rebuild or replacement of the damaged property had to be completed within 180 days of the actual cash value payment. Contract was signed with Accu-Spec dated 6/18/2023 and $18,174.06 was paid by 8/11/2023. According to the contract, portion of this payment was supposed to be collected five days before the work on the roof repair was to start. Work however did not start in timely manner. In November 2023 *** ***** told us that they will not repair/replace the roof by the end of the year. (Will not complete the work within 180 days as required by the insurance company.) When pressed to complete the work by the years end, they said that they will not do the work at all. When asked to refund the money, so we can have the project done by someone else, they refused to refund the money. Several months later they said that they will hire a roofing contractor to replace the roof in middle of February 2024. When we inquired about the credentials of the Roofer, none were provided. When we inquired about the warranty of the labor/workmanship, neither the proposed Roofer nor Accu-Spec would give any. Acc-Spec was not able to hire a Bonafide Roofing contractor and complete the project in timely manner. They are not willing to refund the money so we can have the job done by someone else. We are seeking help in recovery of funds.

3.26.2024, BBB called business spoke with *** *****. *** said she is willing to deliver the materials for the job (shingles). Jan said that there will be no refund to consumer.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 04/02/2024

I am rejecting this response because: We do not trust that Accu-Spec will deliver all materials to cover all the structures for which we paid them. They were telling us in the past that they have already purchased the materials and will have them delivered, however when we asked them to show us the receipts, they refused. We will accept the materials only if delivered in full as per estimate dated 7/27/2023. (Attached here) Otherwise we will refuse delivery requesting full refund of money.

    Regards,

    Complaint #21431906

    Hello:
I'm writing to inform you that on 6/22/2024 Accu-Spec delivered materials for the roof in insufficient quantity. We informed them of the discrepancy via email on 6/23/2024, however they did not reply to our email nor delivered the materials in question.
Here is the list of materials that were delivered and what's needed:
-Valley Metal, not delivered. 37' needed.
-Ice and Water Barrier, 582SF delivered. 647SF needed.
-Ridge Vent, 60' delivered. 107' needed.
-Exhaust caps not delivered. 4" and 6" needed.
-Flashing (Boot) for sewer vent, not delivered. One 4" needed.
They haven't delivered any of the Asphalt Starter course and Ridge Cap. They did deliver 9 bundles of 3-Tab shingles however, I'm assuming that those are to be used in place of Starter course and Ridge cap. (Explanation would be nice.)

Can you please contact Accu-Spec and ensure that these materials are delivered in full?

    Thank you.
