I scheduled an appointment with these people, wait at least 20 minutes only for the person to not even look into my information, tell me that they'd "call me", and I go home. I then gather up all the calculations of sums, etc. because they kept asking me questions about information that I already have sent over in e-files and had them scanned. This tax pro person sends me to someone else because she "isn't qualified." Second person says they're gonna' get a hold of me, doesn't for days, and is also "Not qualified", sends me to a 3rd taxpro. 3rd taxpro person asks me for no information that was crucial to my taxes and fails to even bring up me having to send in a 1095-A, when I told her on the phone that I'm gonna' need to provide such information when she is ready, including my claiming a dependant. Instead, she tells me an inaccurate amount of money is owed, but it doesn't go through as I'm trying to pay such an insane amount of money that I technically don't even have. She notices what mistake she made that led to this inaccuracy, has me fix it on my end, and then even when the tax assessment is lowered, she charges me MORE money on the HR Block fee. And does it again. Finally we're able to situate everything, and complete the process, and I pay the money. But then when I get a final "Sign here" confirmation in the app and email, I see that the $540 that I spent, that I shouldn't have, has now an ADDITIONAL $70 charged to the balance which renders my entire, horrible experiences, priced at $610 with no explanation, and nothing but hassle, so much in fact that I was attempting to take out loans just to pay off these inaccurate numbers due to HER error, and yet she's awarded for this? I will never do business with these people again, and I find it unacceptable that I had to pay this amount and would like some of this money returned back to me.

I filed for free and in the end charged for deluxe A rep told me that I should not have been charged and the only way to not get charged was to redo my return. H& R Block are thieves. No exeption made to help customers. I am out a lot of money. I don’t recommend to anyone.

For five years I was happily using H & R Block to file my tax returns. This year was different. The filing fee was a whopping $470 this year, up from $169 last year. My tax return is uncomplicated, and did not change much from last year. In fact, there was actually one document less this year. After stating this issue in an online customer survey e-mailed to me from H & R Block, the branch manager called. She agreed the huge jump in cost from last year was excessive, but said that because I already paid in full, I could not get any partial refund for the tax return. She said next year I could get the $169 fee again. It is dubious that I cannot even get a $100 refund from corporate for grossly overpaying for my tax return. And I am not willing to wait an entire year for this issue to be rectified in 2026. H & R Block Facebook page says upfront and transparent pricing, but my experience was the opposite. I feel ripped off. I am simply not returning to H & R Block. They have lost me as a client.

H and R block is completely unprofessional and incompetent. I had An associate at the office off of 46nd St. and ThomasRd. which is in Phoenix, Az. Tell me that it was fine to come in after the tax deadline. And file my taxes. Obviously you cannot do that, but I can tell you that there's people at that office branch that are giving the public misleading information. So Beware!!!. The lady's name was Ignacia. Btw...

I went to them. The person that did my taxes claimed we owed 8000 which didn’t make any sense then they wanted to charge us 375 to file then they claimed thst I had already don’t my own individual taxes which was not true and accused me. The person doing the papers did not know what she was doing and kept asking another worker for help. At this point I felt something was not right and dated I will be getting a second opinion. They were ver nasty to us. Second opinion was half of what they claimed and price to file was 75 percents less. Don’t know what is going on in this office but someone needs to do an audit. Others are being taken for money they should not be paying and probably have mistakes on their filing. Please close them down.

I use H&R Block for filing my taxes. Well they gave me at least three different dates which never happened. I was told that they were overwhelmed (not my problem) and I would not be able to have a one on one! I took all my papers they would need and guess what I kept calling them but only for a rude gentleman to tell me they are overwhelmed. Well today is April 14/I call them and they will get back to me no they didn’t and will not answer their phone the dead line is tomorrow and I hear nothing. So what can I do this has never happened to us before or we have never been late filing and we have paid every Penney owed to the IRS…. I refuse to pay a penalty because of their mistake. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE. I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. SHAME ON THEM….

I had my taxes done by H&R Block in Schaumburg, Illinois on 4-12-2025 and they gave me another persons tax returns with the original paperwork… what a surprise for me. So I went back to the office to get my original paperwork and they can’t find it. What would you do?

engaged H&R Block’s online tax preparation service for my 2024 return. The assigned preparer, Alisa Kharis, misreported my RSU income, overstating my taxable income by over $12,000. Despite multiple attempts to address the issue, the error was only corrected after I conducted independent research and insisted on a review. This oversight could have led to a significant overpayment. I request a full waiver of the tax preparation fee due to the inconvenience and time spent rectifying a mistake that should have been avoided.

IRS rejected my tax return because of a missed signature. I’m not the tax professional, therefore I have a reason for my mistake. Now I have to travel back across town and reschedule a meeting just for a signature.

Windsor Colorado Extremely disappointed with the experience at this location. My wife and I have been loyal H&R Block customers for 15 years, but after today’s appointment with Sandra Vetter (Associate Team Leader), we will be taking our business elsewhere. Just like recent reviews have mentioned, we scheduled our appointment online twice, only to receive a message afterward stating there were no available workers at that time. We decided to drop off our documents instead. While my wife was explaining how we had scheduled online and asking a few questions, Sandra Vetter mocked her questions and responded with rude, condescending remarks—including telling us, “How miserable your life must be.” (Tax Analyst) Preeti Paliwal after briefly glancing at a retirement cash-out form, commented that we’d be “moving into a higher tax bracket”—a statement she delivered with a sarcastic tone. Ironically, we’re already in the highest bracket. Despite us clearly stating we weren’t available to come in the next day, she insisted we must return in person to sign paperwork before the deadline—without offering any flexibility or alternative solutions. The situation quickly escalated into a shouting match between Sandra, my wife, and myself—completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from someone in her position. As a business owner myself, I would never tolerate an employee speaking to clients this way. To make matters worse, I had to ask for my paperwork back, at which point Sandra casually said, “Well, someone is looking for it. Is there anything I can help you with?” When I said no, she told me I could wait outside. The lack of respect and professionalism was shocking. Unless H&R Block addresses this issue and holds Sandra Vetter accountable, they’ve lost a long-time customer for good
