I was a patient at the Derby location in January 2024. I thought it odd that they had no patients when I arrived. This is supposed to be a thriving dental practice. The entire time I was there, they had no other patients. The minute the hygienist walked into the room, she tried selling me stuff. I didn't buy any of it. They took 3 xrays. They tried to charge my insurance over $300 for those. The hygienist proceeded to clean my teeth in backward order. I have had my teeth cleaned my entire life. I have never had my teeth cleaned like this. The hygienist had to have come up with this herself. No school teaches cleaning your teeth in backward order. The dentist came in, and I started asking him questions. He was very vague in his answers. I keep trying to pin him down on procedures I needed to be done. Finally, I was getting frustrated and I just shut my mouth. I was told they would give me an estimate, and the dentist walked back to his office. I was told to go sit in another part of the office. By now I had been there 1 1/2 hours. An assistant came over and prepped me for what she said was a "ROOT CANAL". At this point I got up and walked out. Fast-forward to now. I have called (6 times)multiple times to get my records. It has taken them 3 business days just to send me a 1 page release form. Of course, they didn't issue any procedures or instructions to send it back to them electronically. I WOULDN'T GO BACK TO THIS PRACTICE EVEN IF THEY WERE THE LAST DENTIST ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH. GOOD RIDDANCE.

This company is up to something sketchy. They told me I had 4 teeth that had cavities on the left side and 2 on the right. I went in and got the 2 on the right taken care of but I freaked out a little because of the thing they put in your mouth. They got a little upset with me and I never went back. Went to another dentist who told me I didn’t have ANY cavities at all. I informed him that the other dentist said I did and he said they were wrong. This company is just after making money and scamming people out of money. They’re trying to do the same thing to my husband. Told them they wouldn’t charge him for a mistake THEY made and now they’re trying to charge him 810$ a few months later. This place is absurd.

You can find my full review on Google Reviews. One of the worst experiences I've had with a dentist. Dr. C**** Pierson. I went to have a baby tooth extracted as I have gotten braces. I was brought back and asked a lot of questions about a referral from my ortho. Once they were finally able to find it and pull it up on the screen, they stated they would begin the numbing process. The two hygienists working with me were very nice and comforting. The Dr. came in and asked "How are you feeling, numb?" To which I responded "No!" and the hygienist stated "She hasn't started the numbing process quite yet". He said "Okay, let me take a look." At which point he began examining my mouth. He then asked for the q-tip that holds the numbing gel they use before numbing you with a needle. He took it and rubbed it across the area once. He then asked for the needle that numbs (I forget the name but saw it when I opened my eyes in surprise to the question). As the hygienist handed him the needle, she said "shouldn't we numb first?" to which he responded "It will be okay". I then glanced at the hygienists just in time to see them give each other a look that I perceived as worry. He then proceeded to numb me with the needle 4 times without any of the numbing gel working. I gripped tight and pushed myself into the chair saying "It hurts, I feel it" to which he just responded "You're doing great". He then set the needle down and immediately grabbed whatever utensil is used to cut out/extract the tooth. I winced and whined in pain and tried to pull away as AGAIN, I was not given time for the numbing to kick in (I've done this enough times to know they usually walk away and come back and ask if you feel numb yet!).The two hygienists stood on both sides of me and told me to squeeze their hands. I did. And cried. I felt everything. The rest cant be found on Google Reviews.

They have nice people and top tier equipment but they are up to something very sketchy. I went in for a cleaning and was told I have many old fillings that needed to be replaced. I scheduled an appointment to have some but not all done. Came in and had some done at the same time. I was told to expect sensitivity for a week or two. After two weeks I had what I can only explain as shooting nerve paid in ALL newly filled teeth when chewing. I tried to give it some more time but I went to floss between 2 of these teeth and was hit with a pain I can't really explain so I called and scheduled a follow up appointment to figure out what was wrong. After a different dentist spent 10 minutes looking and having me bite down on a plastic tool. I was told I needed two crowns with no explanation and the Dr. Left. I was given a quote but luckily wasn't willing to go through with it. As I was leaving the assistant that had been with me the entire time whispered to me that I should go get a second opinion and I did. I've seen two separate dentists and both have said I absolutely do not need crowns, the new dentist made some adjustments and the pain isn't as bad with the exception of 1 tooth. The new dentist said that the fillings were most likely were done improperly just judging from how bad my bite was left but they can be redone. Now what makes me say Wichita family dental is up to something sketchy is having spent some time looking into them online I seem to be one of many other people with this exact same experience and I don't think it's a coincidence.
