      Meritrust told me when closing my daughters account to leave $5 in savings in case she ever wanted to use them in the future. Also stated as long as there's $5 no fee. 6 months later her account is $-10. I called and rep was adamant they could not remove fee even after she knew we were incorrectly informed. Rep said notes stated it was a phone call my daughter made to close account and I could listen to it. Let her know we walked in and we're handed cash. This was not a phone call. When she told me no wa they can remove fee for her again I let her know I'd be going to east location in wichita to close my account I've had for years as well id love to hear my daughts 'phone call'. She said well you can't listen to call there but I can close out your account. Left work and went to location in person and nice gentlemen at desk apologized and said he would have been happy to remove fee. But can no longer do that since phone rep closed the account. Very dissatisfied that accounts in good standing are not worth making this right. They took us for $5 which sounds ridiculous but in return have lost 3 accounts of mine and a future car loan! Will never bank with them again. Because of one nasty phone rep.

      We got a car loan through Cable-Dahmer Buick, who uses this business as one of their sources for car loans. We had no choice in selecting Meritrust. This is a frustrating and highly incompetent company to do business with. We tried to setup our account with them, on-line and ran into problems so called their customer service. In the process of getting help, they requested our personal bank user ID and password to setup our payment account. We did NOT give them this info and thought it very unprofessional to request a personal password. Then they charge $4.00 on top of every monthly payment transaction unless you setup a savings account with them and deposit money in that account in order to make a payment. We have NEVER had to do this before. We usually just make a payment from our personal bank account like you do when you pay a utility bill, etc. Also, there is no way to input a specific pay date when setting up a monthly payment. Plus, they limit the amount you can pay monthly to $2,500 so they can charge you the extra $4 "inconvenience" fee. We will pay off our $24,000 loan early just to avoid doing business with this incompetent company. But, unfortunately we'll have to pay off the loan in $2,500 increments which is a poor way to do business. If you buy a car through a dealership, do all you can to avoid doing business with this terrible company.

      Dont do buisness with this company they dont care about you they charged me gap isnurance which they denied after my car got rear ended and totalled out so with money left on my account they denied gap insurance then proceed to tell me i was being charged twice for insurance 3 months later im still fighting them to refund the money on my account but keep making up excuses my credit is destroyed because of these people

      I recently got my car refinanced through Meritrust and have been trying to make my 1st payment which is due in a week and have not been able to figure out how to do it. I finally got my account number. I made an account thru the website but there is no place to pay your bill unless you bank with them. It is the most infuriating process I have ever had to deal with in my life. I do not recommend refinancing through them.
