American Dream Home Improvement DBA AmeriPro came to my house 4/23 after I lost shingles due to wind damage and hail damage. I signed what I thought was an authorization to work with my insurance company, when in fact it was a predatory contract. I was told at that time that all it says is I wont have to pay anymore than what insurance will pay. Work was not started until 8-23, without scheduling and actually came while I was out of town. They say they robocalled me. Im only knew about them doing the roof when the workers called asking where my house was. I told them I wanted them off my property as I dont have work done while Im not home. I was told too bad, they already tore the roof off. Since then I have had new as of last week 3/10/25 water damage7 new places I have seen since the roof was installed. They also took my vent out to my water heater, reroofed around it and it no longer vents my water heater. I had a company come out and look at it. They sent a letter to AmeriPro showing how the vent was when they last did preventative maintenance on my water heater and what it is now. AmeriPro denied the damage stating the vent was rusted. It is not. I have a letter from nipsco. I was told by both I cant use my water heater as it is now a danger. I also had a roofing company come out, they wrote an estimate stating a new roof needs to be installed due to poor installation. They will not fix the new and worsening water damage as it is at the frost line and therefore not their problem. They also said I sent them the same pics as the insurance company. I sent them the insurance companies and my new pics. They offered to take $1k off due to the black mold I now have growing. They have 4 states with lawsuits against them. ******** and ********* settled. Illinois at $1million and ********* undisclosed NC and **** sue them for cease and desists!

      Ms.  ******,

In an offer of good faith, we have removed you from our collection process.

Our position, however, has not changed.  AmeriPro did not detach any pipes on the interior of the home, the pipes remained in the exact same position and as with every roof project we paint the pipes from the outside. If the previous roofer decked over an existing hole, we would not have known this as the decking was not damaged or deteriorated and therefore did not require replacement. It is not possible to deck over a vent when no decking was used during the roof installation. There were no funds paid to AmeriPro and your insurance company issued funds of $9,855.24.

      Best Regards,

enclosed I have submitted the before vent pictures and after you came to my house and installed pictures. With a letter from the weatherization company that does regular checks on my furnace and water heater. They state it was NOT like that. They have also stated it was pulled out and moved. I still to this day can not use my hot water heater! I have a letter from another roofing company stating a new roof needs to be installed due to poor prior installation. I have sent as many pics as this would allow me to showing the additional water damage I have on my ceiling since 3/25. The app would not allow me to show all the pictures at this time. Id be happy to send more. You have 4 lawsuits put agains your company as American Dream Home improvement. You DBA Ameripro. Illinois sued you and settled for $1million dollars. I am not the only person with these issues. You have refused to fix any problems. You stated you took me out of collections, you also need to have it taken off my credit report. Your sun contractors did a horrible job, youre not even a roofing company. Just a sales company who goes to third party contractors that are no good. You wont fix any of the problems and you certainly will not take any blame even though I have written proof. I absolutely do not find this satisfactory. I will have to pay another company to come out here and do the job right. You dont deserve the money for the poor job that was done. Again, since I am out of collections you need to have it taken off my credit report. If you want to deny my requests I will post more pictures and court documents from your other claims against you.

      Ms. ******,

AmeriPro has repeatedly responded to your complaints with the facts regarding your roof project.  AmeriPro suggests that you utilize the funds your insurance company provided for your roof repair since you have not paid AmeriPro for your project.  Your outstanding balance is $9,855.24 and your balance paid is $0.  I'm obligated to tell you that a financial gain from insurance funds is punishable by law.

      Sincerely,

You have heard of all my complaints because you refuse to take responsibility for anything. And you refuse to fix any damage or poor installation.  I never signed a contract stating all of the product that was to be used and law states down to the nails. You applied the roof past the time of the insurance company payment. You represented yourself as working with the insurance company and by Indiana law that is not allowed. You also had a shingle change which was supposed to be sent to me to personally sign and that was not done. You have threatened me with collections, liens and now the law. Rest assured the funds will be used and not kept. I have enclosed a bill from another company stating the roof needs to be reinstalled due to improper installation. Says that right in the estimate. Thats $7200 of the insurance money that will be used. You stated which I have in writing that $1k would be taken off per Tomaz due to black mold growing from further damage. ***** was also was supposed to pick up my deductible from a company securing that which is also in my messages to Chase.that was $1k.  He was the one who said he would pick up the funding. He never did. So thats $9200. I also need to have someone come to reinstall the roof pipe above and below the roof line. I have yet to get a charge for that, but Ill be happy to let you know what that is once I have a company come back for it. The $7200 will go to ***** Roofing to re install my roof. I have new water damage as of 3/25 in 7 spots. The fall of 24 was one new water spot including the worsening damage from the original. You have lied about many things and have not taken responsibility for any of it. You have 4 other states that have sued you. You know you have. Look up American Dream Home Improvement DBA Ameripro. You changed your name because of the lawsuits. You did a bad job on my roof and I have backing from three companies. 1 roofing company and 2 companies for the water heater. One sent you a letter with pictures. Tomaz came back and lied and said it was rusted out. It was not. I also had ****** come out and they red tagged it to not use. So again, the insurance company money will go to fix the damage you created. The BBB will not allow the file for the roofing estimate from ***** Roofing. Id be happy to supply that to you through other avenues so you can see it. Send me an email to send it directly to you. I cant make it fit within their limits on this page

The work done by this Company, was accomplished by inexperienced or nonprofessionals. The job was sloppy and negligently accomplished. The vents Caps, ventilation, material and flashing, were abandoned and left unused. When I found out the roof was leaking from the overhanging (enclosed by five ventilated windows & big Patio door), and through the EXCEL Energy Pole because they had not properly sealed the shingles around it, I suggested they use the remaining materials. The agents they sent, and others kept coming back, because they kept doing a lousy job. Some couldn't communicate in English and will not understand what I tried to recommend/suggest. They came out about five times just for this repair and only when the ***** were already getting rotten. The attic has been leaking now for more than a year because before the now stained ceiling, one could hear the dripping sound of water. ISSUES-This has caused the electrical system in my children's room and kitchen to go out.-The Ceiling in the kids' room, my room and kitchen now all bear water marks. This issue evolves around res **** loquitur, because this company at all times had, 1) exclusive control of roofing, 2 There has been no intentional or otherwise misuse of this roof, 3 No force Majeure, and no maintenance has been conducted by any other entity, 4) Or another contractor, 5) And the full contract amount was paid. Before the company recommended a roof change; we never had any issues with our old roof, such as leaks nor any other issues. This company has no excuse to violate their warranty and or negligently accomplished services, that they are NOW trying to blame on Ventilation; without even causing any inspection as they should. They equally have unused materials, which could have mitigated this damage. This equally means that I spent for material that weren't but were supposed to be used. I went online after this experience and saw the co. had a track record of this behavior.

      Mr. *****,

AmeriPro has been to your property to inspect the issues you reported.   The decking and insulation in your attic were saturated, but this is not due to roof leaks. This is a result of condensation occurring throughout the main part of the attic.  The property currently lacks soffit vents and so there's no intake ventilation from below, AmeriPro did not do soffit work for you. Currently, the attics air circulation relies solely on two ***** vents. This setup is insufficient to maintain proper airflow, particularly during extreme weather conditions.   We strongly recommend consulting with an intake ventilation specialist as a next step.

      Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: I Wish to Acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the BBB., at an attempted resolution of this Issue but will state as follows:
By the time we purchased this ******************** Property in July 2017, the roof was already there for more than ten years; but without a single Leak, and thus, NO single repairs, or Stains on the Ceiling. THESE are common things that a Licensed Inspector (we paid for), the *********** Representative, would have found. We were equally present during this inspection. We have lived in this Property since then, UNTIL the replaced roof, without any concerns.
AMERIPRO, seem to portray some form of oversimplification in their Answer:
      -They don't give an explanation as to why the property all of a Sudden would need an "INTAKE VENTILATION SPECIALIST, just after their Negligently conducted roof replacement;
      -Nor, are they providing reasons WHY, the materials that were needed, and purchased for the property and suggested to be used were not;
      - AMERIPRO, didn't inspect this roof, during their visit in order to ascertain whether or not the leaks were actually emanating from the roof and as a result of their BAD services or not. In fact, I just showed them stain marks, and open a potion of the Attic, and they just drew their conclusion. Their staff who made this decision was not even a party to the Locus in quo and it behooves him to had done so.

THEIR decision is solely based on the fact that their gaff is overwhelming to bear.

THEIR RESPONSE IS EXTREMELY INSULTING AND UNSATISFACTORY.

      Sincerely,

AmeriPro roofing refuses to honor my original contract from 10 years ago. They were under another name American Dream Home Improvement. It says I have a lifetime workmanship warranty. They did not vent my attic properly after doing the roof. I now have wet insulation, wet boards, and mold. At first they said it was storm damage from this past summer so I filed a claim in January 2025. ******** denied it on Feb 6th because there is no storm damage or hail damage like they said. The contractor **** came back out and now says its a ventilation issue and has not gotten back to me. I would like this repaired because I have severe allergies and asthma.

      Ms. *****,

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience.  I have thoroughly investigated your complaint and your roof installation from 2015.  Your original contract states that you have a lifetime workmanship warranty, that is correct.  AmeriPro warranties the work effort associated with the installation of your roof.  The issues associated with your attic are no fault of our workmanship. An AmeriPro representative was at your property in early February 2025 and submitted their findings.   The humidity levels in your home were at 75%, mostly due to the one reading we took in your home, in an upper-level bedroom under the attic, which included more than 5+ fish tanks.  Additionally, we were not able to gain access and therefore had no visibility into the room you stated the leak was occurring.  We did access was your attic.   There are several things that are problematic from a ventilation perspective.  Additionally, during the last inspection your insurance company was on site and 100 percent communicated to us that you have a house condensation and ventilation issue and therefore denied your new roof claim. I hope this explains our position.

      Best Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:  I am rejecting what Ameripro stated. The first time they were out in late Jan,**** stated that it was severe storm damage and hail damage so that is why I filed a claim with my insurance company ********. AlllState came out checked the roof and stated there was no damages to the roof and checked the attic and stated it was not properly ventilated by the roofing company that installed it 10 years ago. Not because my son has fish tanks. Then **** came back out to check the attic in early Feb because he didnt the first time and still said its not workmanship its because of these fish tanks but he would get back to me in regards to what they can do. He never did so that is why I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. I still have wet wood and wet insulation and mold.

I have personally added you to our internal do not call list and you will no longer receive any calls from AmeriPro Roofing. If you are regularly getting calls from other roofing companies in the industry, I'd suggest adding your number to the national do not call registry.

We also kindly ask that if youre satisfied with this solution, you consider removing your complaint. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and we would greatly appreciate an update on the status of your complaint.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please dont hesitate to contact us at **************.

On 5/17/2024 someone knocked on my door that was going door to door trying to sell new roofs on insurance claims from hail damage. The person that came out that day told me that the contract that I signed, would ONLY be active IF the insurance company agreed to cover the cost of everything on the contract. Under the damage notes included on the contract, the representative INCLUDED that there was sections of missing Fascia & Soffit that needed to be replaced as part of the agreement WITH the roof. On the contract there was never a total cost written on the line. The representative just wrote " Market Unit Value ". When I asked him about it, he said that since it's an insurance claim, there's no total since I'm only responsible for my deductible. To this day, I have never been given/told a total that my contract was for, just that they want the check from the insurance company. The roofing company battled to get an acceptable amount of money for them to do the roof, so they notified me on Aug 9th that the materials would be dropped off the following Monday, Aug 12th, which they were, but was never contacted to arrange a date to begin the work. I was awoken Tuesday morning, Aug 13th to pounding on my roof when the roofers were removing my old roof without any notice or warning. After the roof was installed, I contacted to representative about the fascia & soffit, since it was not replaced, & he said that the insurance company didn't approve enough money to replace everything & they were still fighting to get more money to replace all the fascia & soffit. I was contacted in December of 2024 by an AmeriPro representative that told me that the insurance adjuster had cut off communication with them & they are not able to replace the fascia & soffit that was agreed upon. They said they would remove the price of the small amount that was included in the adjusters original claim, but it was a minute amount. I would like remaining balance $4750. removed for my trouble please.

I am rejecting this response because:
I was told that NO work would have been done to the house if EVERYTHING that was written on the contract was not approved by the insurance company. Since the fascia & soffit WAS included on the original contract, NO work should have been done on the house UNTIL all the fascia & soffit was replaced! Since Ameripro was unable to get the insurance company to pay for EVERYTHING that was agreed upon in the contract, the roof should have never been done & the money returned to the insurance company. Ameripro is claiming that since 1/3rd of the contract was paid for by the insurance company, then the have the right to proceed with the job WITHOUT getting authorization for the remaining 2/3rds of the contract. The roof should have NEVER been started without getting the complete contract approved from the insurance company. I was completed disgusted & insulted by the minuscule $250 so called inconvenience discount. The fact that you even brought that up is a complete disregard for professionalism & a slap to me face!

AmeriPro advocated for you with your insurance company to cover all of the work you felt was damaged.  It is your insurance company who is responsible for denying the coverage.  AmeriPro did not charge you for soffit or fascia work and a retail quote for that work would have been the only solution.  Thank you for your recent payment, the $250.00 credit was applied, and your final invoice will be sent to you.

      Mr. ****,

I've been in contact with your sales representative and does recall his experience and spoke very favorably of you.  I can understand how your family home is important to you and that addressing the areas of storm damage was a priority.  The insurance only approved the roof, and as with any insurance company, only approves areas of the home that were damaged by hail or wind.   If an insurance company does not approve other areas, we do advocate for you but ultimately we have no control over that. Your best course of action is to appeal this with the ***************************  If an insurance company does not approve the work, we have to charge for our services.   We are willing to provide a quote if that is the direction you would like to move to.

      Best Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:

I COMPLETELY understand what you said & agree with that 100% & have no problem with that. What I have a problem with, & what everyone at your company is ignoring is that I signed a contract a contract of a PACKAGE deal & was told that NO work would be done UNLESS all 3 parts of the contract would get approved. I understand that the insurance only approved 1 part, & a small portion of parts 2 & 3, but per the contract, NOTHING should have been done until all 3 parts were approved & I NEVER gave authorization for 1 part to be completed without the other 2 parts being approved! If your car got in an accident & the repair shop only fixed the body of the car but not the engine compartment & claimed that the insurance company didn't give enough to complete the job, you would not be satisfied either! Your company keeps ignoring responsibility for all 3 parts of the contract & keeps deflecting to the insurance company when this is all about the 3 parts that were agreed on on the contract between you & I. REGARDLESS of what the insurance company does or does not pay, I was told that NO work would be started WITHOUT all 3 parts being completely approved.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ****

      Mr. ****,

I have followed up internally and have the following information.  AmeriPro advocated for you very early on with your insurance company after they rejected your claim.  Your sales representative reviewed the insurance summary with you and reported that you were very satisfied that the roof was fully approved.  191 different entries on your account have been reviewed and again our goal was to get full approval for all of the trades, your insurance rejected that.  You were notified when your roof materials were on site via a phone call and an automated text.  No one communicated that your other work was approved and would commence.  It sounds as if there was a communication error and for that we can empathize and did issue you a credit.  The only option at this point is to provide a retail quote for any additional work.

      Best Regards,

      AmeriPro Roofing

Ameripro replaced my ************** earlier this year Jan/Feb 2024 for a cost of ****** I called 3 weeks ago complaining about an issue with my gutters . The issue is there needs to be another spout added on one side of the house. There is no place for the water to go. They asked for photos which I sent & Ameripro told me that they werent going to send any representative out to check & I need to clean my gutters because they are clogged. All I asked is for someone from their company to check. The warrant states if I have anyone else do any work my warranty is void. So this is one of my last efforts to get them to honor their work. One other thing to consider is its about to get cold & the water in the gutters will freeze unless I have another contractor do the work. I would like them to pay for whatever the bill will be.
