Initial window installation was performed on 10/11/2022. Multiple issues reported on 10/15/2022.Business came out on 10/19/2022 to take photos. Business said he would recaulk the windows and fix the issues.. On 11/11/2022, window manufacturer came out and resealed gaps inside window frame. On 12/23/2022, we noticed windows not sealed/caulked properly. Moisture and dirt in corners due to improper window caulking, multiple gaps, window frame sinking. Business owner denies and again said it just needs a little caulk. We had multiple window companies provide us their opinions. All confirmed windows were installed improperly. Business owner became less receptive to our concerns and phone calls. On 7/3/2023 we noticed a large gap, approximately 1/2 inch across the full length on top of the 2 window sets. Business came over on 7/6/23. Again he said it needed to be caulked. His installer would not be available until week of 7/17/23. Later we found out his installer was no longer with the company and he had a new installer. The new installer came over on 8/14/2023 to view the job. He immediately stated the windows were not installed properly and needed to be replaced. He told business the same. Windows are still under warranty period. On 9/1/2023, business owner told us he will replace the windows and he placed the order for new windows. We have made numerous follow up calls for window status. Business does not return the calls. When we did receive a response, we have been given multiple stories as to the status of the windows (such as, they are in production, or he doesn't have the money right now to pay for them). As of this date, 5/28/2024, we still have no windows installed, nor have we been provided a date as to when we can expect to see them. We are seniors on a fixed income, and we really need someone to assist us with this issue.

I am not arguing with what *************************** mentioned in his complaint. I mentioned to ** that would take of the matter one window at a time. I ordered the new window in December I put money down on the window from Climate Solutions in ************* ********. When the first window was finished end of January I gave Climate Solutions more money. But February March and April sales was flat and I couldnt give Climate Solutions any money towards the window in the month of May sales picked up again and gave Climate Solutions more money covering 1/2 the cost of the window. ********************* didnt believe me so I my sales rep ******* call ********************** to confirm what was going on. I will be giving Climate Solutions more money next week and 3/4 if that window will be paid for and hopefully we will install that window beginning of July 2024. I also try my best to satisfy my customers. I didnt expect the economy to slow down this fast. But we will take of problems thank you ****** Uhlmann Uhlmann Home Improvement Inc.

I am rejecting this response because:  ********************************************** has promised us resolution of this horrible window project for over a year . Initially it was bad caulking and paint nicks in the window and residue on window frames.  Next it was huge gaps in the window frame due to no sub sill foundation installation.  Once he did  finally acknowledge there was an issue on his part, (after many months) we were told he would order new windows.  We were told this in August of 2023.  In September he said they should be ready soon.  Waiting for the glass to come in.  Then on November 17, 2023, he said windows would be ready to install in mid December. Now he tells you he ordered in December.   Then on December 29th, 2023, he stated the window are ready and when the weather breaks he will call to install.  No mention at that time that he had to pay any monies.  On 2/20/2024, called Uhlmann's office and was told he was on vacation in *******  Since February of this year, we have reached out to him numerous times, only to be given another story.

All we want is our windows properly installed, or our money back.   As you can tell from this written communication, we hesitate to believe him since we have been told many lies as to when we should expect resolution.  What reasoning is there to believe he will follow through on his response  to correct his mistakes on this project?

     Sincerely,

    *******************************

I am rejecting this response because: I have not heard from ****** Uhlmann since april. He promised me he would call me early may with a install date. I have contacted the manufacture of the windows, climate solutions. They indicated the windows are still in their warehouse as of today June 27 and still not paid for. They said that ****** has issues. ****** has to contact me ASAP with an install date. He promised that he will install in July, that is in 4 days. I need resolution.

I am rejecting this response because: Again we are being given another installation date.  This is very apparent the business is not reputable and not standing by their words.  As you can now see, he continues to extend the supposed date for installation and correction of his errors.

**************** stated to you that he will have completed  all the necessary work by August 15th.  However, the last communication we received from him, dated July 12th, 2024 stated he did not know when he would be installing the windows.  He still needed to pay off the windows and pay his installer.  BTW, we do NOT want the same installers for this repair/replacement!!

    What is the truth??

We have been promised correction to his errors for over a year now.

    Sincerely,

    *******************************

ON MAY 30,2023, we entered into an agreement with Mr. ********************** to have (5) broken hinges/linchpins repaired for (5) of our home's crank-out windows, so they could open again. His charge was $1755, and we put down $500. (It was a steep price (overcharge), but we were eager to get the windows fixed when nobody else could.).He said he was going away for (2) weeks but would have his man call us during that time. No- one called. When **************** returned, we called him again and same thing, no call from his employee. After we kept prompting him, the worker finally SHOWED UP ON JULY 24 and didn't have any parts, but did manage to fix one window with the existing part that WE ALREADY HAD. (We also discovered that only a total of FOUR, not 5 windows needed to be fixed.) The worker said he needed to order parts (What was he doing for TWO months.??) which would take about (3) weeks. No one showed, no-one called. Finally, on AUGUST 24, we called Mr. ******* and told him we no longer wanted his services and to send us our $500 refund. He said he would call us to let us know when we could pick up the check.. On August 28, he called and stated he had decided to REFUSE our refund because "we had a contract". He did NO work for us, had us hanging for THREE months, and did not honor his contract. We hired him in good faith, only to be disappointed by his apathy and arguments. He is clearly stealing our money ! Please help. $500 is a lot of money to us!

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
COMPLAINT # ******** We are responding to the (barely legible) reply sent by Mr. ********************** (of Uhlmann Home Improvement) in which he claimed he had tried to reach us several times. Since May 30, we have tried to call for work status (keeping in mind his 2-week vacation to ******, and resulting "jetlag," which naturally delayed work.) He mentions that his worker, ***, was unavailable for "2.5 months" to do the work. Surely, he could have put another man on the job. His worker, ***, did not reach out to us until JULY 24, at which time he managed to fix one window (NOT THREE, as Mr. ********************** claims.) and with EXISTING parts that he found OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW, NOT with any ordered parts. In fact, *** went around the outside searching for missing parts, using a MAGNET! We could have done this ourselves! (This is what we think made *** uncomfortable, as ********************** wrote), when he stated that my husband was following him around-- something he has every right to do as the homeowner. How could Mr. ********************** have ordered parts (as he claims) if he first needed to "re-measure" our windows? And how could *** have have fixed 3 windows in the first place without the needed parts?!? And why would Mr. ********************** pay his worker (as he also claimed) for parts and work that he never came back to finish? They have our house number and could have left a message on the machine (there were none.) It is now October--5 months later, and still 3 of our 4 windows are not repaired. We do not trust Mr. ********************** or his worker, at this point, because of his inconsistent claims. We do not believe there are any "expensive" parts out there and we invite him to our home to see the four alleged repairs that *** made. We will not pay for parts and labor that were never delivered and simply want our $500 deposit back. Thank you, in advance, for your help.
    Sincerely,

    *********** & ***************************

When we enter into the agreement I informed the customer that my installer had lost his wife she had died suddenly and he was in shock
He couldnt put himself together which I understood and so did all my other customers
My installer finally saw professional help that help him to. back to work
He still not 100 per cent back but hes a lot better
My installer so what the problem was on the windows and went around the home to look for the parts of the window to save our customers time and money he did locate two parts and was able to repair 2 of the windows according to my installer he told the customer had he had to order new parts and informed them that it would take 6-8 weeks to obtain the parts for their  windows
My installer aside he tried to call them back left messages to return to get some more measurements that he needed the customers never returned his call
Than my customer called me and for the return of their money  because we have expenses out on this job
If they want us to repair the windows they will have to wait another 6-8 weeks because we are behind due the the weather
And just think about all the complaining their windows could have been repaired 1.5 months ago and they would be happy
    Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: RE: CASE#******** Uhlmann Home Improvement We hope to re-open this case and apologize to the BBB for any delay in reponding. We are rejecting Mr. **********************'s reply of October 17 to the BBB. He doesn't seem to remember his facts. On Aug. 31, he claimed, that his worker fixed 4 of the 5 windows. ( We discovered that the 5th window was fine). Then, on Oct. 17, his BBB reply stated that his worker had fixed two windows. As we stated in our original report and firmly confirm, the worker fixed only ONE window with old EXISTING PARTS he found on our sill and kept fishing around outside with a MAGNET for more. This is not what we agreed to! If he canot find the parts, he should say so. And why pay the worker without coming out to see the alleged finshed repairs himself to make sure we are satisfied? Because of the BIG wait of FIVE months now, and no calls or work being done, we want our $500 deposit back. We also continue to invite Mr. ********************** to come to our house and review the so-called "finished" work. To date, he has not responded to us.

    Sincerely,

    *********** & ***************************
