      # Wells Fargo: A Bank That Prioritizes Profits Over People's Safety After being victimized in a "soft mugging" for $1000 at an isolated Wells Fargo ATM, hidden around the back of their building in a very unsafe neighborhood (***********) I discovered how this bank treats customers in crisis: with indifference, obstruction, and zero accountability.## My Experience When intimidated into a fraudulent transaction at their poorly secured ATM hidden in an unsafe location, Wells Fargo:- Denied my claim despite clear evidence of fraud - Blamed me for a transaction conducted under duress - Ignored security footage that would prove my case - Mishandled my claim with incorrect case numbers - Refused to acknowledge their dangerous ATM placement ## Wells Fargo's Pattern Not an isolated incident. Their documented history:- **2016**: $185 million fine for creating millions of fraudulent accounts - **2018**: $575 million settlement for improper mortgage modifications - **2020**: $203 million penalty for deceptive overdraft practices - **2023**: $3.7 billion CFPB penalty for mismanaging accounts, harming thousands ## The Numbers - "F" rating from BBB with *****+ complaints in three years - *****+ CFPB complaints in 2023 for account ******************** and fraud - 1.4/5 stars on Trustpilot from *****+ reviews ## Reality of Wells Fargo They consistently:- Place ATMs in dangerous locations - Blame customers for fraud - Pay billions in settlements yet continue predatory practices - Value profit over safety I urge potential customers to choose banks that don't demonstrate such callous disregard for consumer protection.????????????????

Extremely Disappointed After 10+ Years with Wells Fargo Ive been a loyal Wells Fargo customer for over 10 years. Right before leaving the **** for a couple of months, my account was blocked after transferring $3,500 to my son, a person Ive sent money to monthly (usually $1,000+). I had also changed my password that day.I explained the situation and was told to give my son a power of attorney so he could access the funds. He went to a branch twice, once without and once with the notarized document. Still, after waiting for hours, they told him I had to be there in person.I was willing to provide any and all information, and so was my son. I even went as far as notarizing the document, and yet Wells Fargo completely ignored our efforts. Despite many calls explaining I was stranded abroad without access to my funds or a way to return, they kept repeating I needed to go in person. One representative even ended the call mid-conversation after saying, Youve been told multiple times to visit a branch.I feel completely abandoned by a bank I once trusted. This situation has hurt both my personal life and business, and I sincerely hope Wells Fargo rethinks how they treat honest, long-term customers in difficult situations.

I had an account years ago, and when I tried to close it due to fees and no benefits, they fought me every step of the way. Recently, they opened a new account without my permission and won't tell me who opened it or when it was opened. They said that they couldn't share this information. I'm waiting for the fraud department to get back to me but haven't heard anything in two months. When I try to contact them, there are long wait times. I don't think they learned from the fraud cases they were involved in a few years back.

Wells Fargo is the most dishonest and predatory institution Ive ever had the displeasure of interacting with. When the pandemic hit it took a devastating financial toll on me and my family. I tried for weeks to get some help or guidance of any kind from them as they were the entity where my home was mortgaged. I got NOTHING from them, no help, no information or suggestions on how to navigate through what was a very difficult time. As a result I lost my home, but they sure didnt waste any time taking legal action against a family that was suffering. Shame on them.

Wells Fargo fabricated some fraudulent activity on my business account. ************************* claimed that a one hundred and sixty six dollar physical check. The issue here is i *** have a savings account . Therefore how could I overdraft one hundred and sixty five When I had over drafted legitimately I made sure the debt was cleared. Wells Fargo continued to claim that all my checks sent to me via email and postal service were 'fraudulent without giving me a clear explanation of the reason why they rejected. After the third physical check i tried to mobile deposit into my business account. ********************** closed my account. So I had no choice but write the **** and filed a complaint with them, Which contains further detail of Wells Fargo's abuse of power.

Wells Fargo does not deserve any stars. Zero star is what I would rate them. The same day my son passed away, on 12/21/24, Wells Fargo authorized a $4000 transaction plus allowed tele-transfers to happened on my account. In the mist of crying, I just so happened to check my account and notice transactions that I did not make. I called the bank to put in claims on the 3 accounts that I had with Wells Fargo at the time. During this time, I had just got paid & I had a total of $4, 671 in the bank. On 12/30 Wells Fargo finally gave me a provisional credit of the $4,000 because it was some ****************** in another state mind you, I live in ********. I would also like to mention I had no money to help bury my son during this time. I have been battling Wells Fargo from 12/21/24 until March 2025 for the $671 that I did not get back. Their excuse or reasoning was that I couldn't get my money back because they didn't see a transaction for $671. I'm continuously them they are not going to see a transaction for amount. the $671 is the difference from the $4,671 that I had in the account. I also had a bank representative over the phone to verify with me the total amounts that were in the account before all the weird transactions happened which again happened a few days before Christmas. I am saying all of this to say, Wells Fargo is a THIEF, and they stole my money!!!

I would leave a ZERO star review if it would allow me. This company is beyond incompetent and the customer service is laughable. After 5 years of paying our mortgage, they decided to add a tax to pay that they were not authorized to pay. This has caused unreasonable inconviences since we have to call and do so much leg work to be told they can't do anything to fix there mistake. I will never do business with this bank for any purpose! The customer service people will even act like they can't hear you so they can drop the call. Then nobody ever calls you back. Absolute s***** customer service.

Bravo, Wells Fargo. Really. Applause all around.Because nothing says top-tier fraud protection like letting a 19-year-olds ATM card get cloned, used to withdraw $142.50 three times in a row at the exact same ********, ******** ATM, inside a liquor store no less, and then letting the thief wipe out her savings all without so much as a peep from your so-called security ********* ******* ******** ******* red flags.Just vibes, apparently.Never mind that her ENTIRE transaction history is in ****** and **********, ***** you know, where she actually lives. But sure, I guess you figured she just teleported to ******** for a spontaneous 3-minute ATM joyride? And then heres the real masterpiece you DENY her fraud claim. No fraud detected, you say. Just three identical ATM withdrawals and a cleaned-out savings account in a city shes never been to. Totally normal.Your advice? Oh, its rich.Go file a police report in *********Maybe theyll pull security footage. Then you can sue in civil court.Ah yes because what every teenager wants to do when their money is stolen is become a cross-state private investigator with a law degree. What a lovely customer service model: Good luck, kid!Honestly, if Wells Fargo spent half as much time protecting accounts as they do writing denial letters and passing the ***** maybe just maybe this kind of disgrace wouldnt happen.Wells Fargo: where your money is safe, unless someone wants it. Then its your ***************** the way, i covered her. Now you owe me $600and change
